Okehampton is conveniently situated just off the A30 main road between Exeter and Launceston. Follow the signs to Okehampton and the brown tourist signs to the railway and the Youth Hostel. For Satnavs, the postcode is EX20 1EJ.

The number 6 and 6A buses run between Exeter Bus Station, Exeter St David’s railway station and Okehampton. The 5A service runs from Exeter to Okehampton via Crediton and Hatherleigh. Leave the bus in Okehampton town centre and walk to the station (approximately 0.5 miles, but note that it is uphill). Timetables can be found on the Stagecoach website, or via the Traveline Southwest website.
Okehampton is situated on National Route 27 of the National Cycle Network Route which runs from Ilfracombe to Plymouth and is known as the Devon Coast to Coast cycle route. The 11 mile route between Okehampton and Lydford runs along the former railway line and is known as the Granite Way. Visit Sustrans for more information.
